This is the best lasagna ever and my family’s favorite meal….and its made in your crockpot! It’s made with lean ground turkey….but I promise you can’t tell. It’s easy and full of flavor, you don’t even need to boil the noodles!!! I’m sure you’ve seen plenty of variations of this dish but I promise mine is not complicated and even the pickiest eaters will love it. Once you try it you will never make it in the oven again. Try it and this will surely become your favorite slow cooker lasagna.
1.25 lbs ground turkey
2 28oz. cans of crushed tomatoes
1 24oz. low-fat cottage cheese
1/4 cup grated parmesan
1 3/4 cup shredded low-fat mozzarella
1 tbs dried oregano
1tbs dried basil
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
4 garlic cloves minced
9 lasagna noodles
Brown ground turkey.
Add crushed tomatoes, oregano, basil, garlic, salt, and pepper to the ground turkey, mix and set meat sauce aside.
In a bowl add cottage cheese, parmesan cheese, and 1 cup mozzarella cheese, mix and set aside.
Spray a 5-6 quart slow cooker with non-stick spray.
Add 1 1/2 cup of meat sauce to the bottom of the slow cooker.
Break 3 noodles to fit slow cooker and add on top of the sauce.
Top noodles with 1 1/2 cup of cheese mixture.
Top cheese with 1 1/2cup sauce.
Repeat twice more with noodles, cheese mixture, and sauce.
Top with remaining 3 noodles sauce and 3/4 cup of shredded mozzarella.
Cover and cook on low for 3 1/2- 4 hours.
Dinner is served.
