Slow Cooker Ground Turkey Tacos

So I have been on a taco kick lately.  I think tacos are an easy weeknight meal that’s fairly easy to prepare.  Now, my kids are super picky, and this is their absolute favorite dinner…ever! So every Tuesday at our house is Taco Tuesday!  There is no complaining and everyone wants seconds….and thirds! Made in the slow cooker and using a homemade taco seasoning these slow cooker ground turkey tacos are super delicious. The meat comes out super tender and is great on top of salads, in burritos, or tostadas.  It makes great left overs and freezes well too!  

Ingredients:


2.5 lbs lean ground turkey meat

1 tbs. chili powder

2 tsp oregano

2 tsp cumin

2 tsp paprika 

2 tsp garlic powder

2 tsp onion powder

2 tsp salt

1 tsp pepper

12 corn taco shells

Toppings:

lettuce

tomatoes

shredded cheese

Directions:

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Brown the ground turkey in a large nonstick skillet over high heat, breaking it into smaller pieces as it cooks.
  2. Add meat to slow cooker. slowcookerturkey

  4. Add tomato sauce, water, and stir well.  turkeytacos
  5. Cover and cook on high 3-4 hours or low 6 to 8. 
  6. Heat the taco shells according to directions and fill with meat mixture and toppings.crockpotturkeytacos

  3. 1 tbs. chili powder
  4. 2 tsp oregano
  5. 2 tsp cumin
  6. 2 tsp paprika

  10. 1 tsp pepper
  11. 12 corn taco shells

  2. When it is no longer pink add chopped onion and cook an additional 2-3 minutes.
  3. Add meat and onion to slow cooker.
  4. Add all spices and mix well.
  5. Add tomato sauce, water, and stir well.
  6. Cover and cook on high 3-4 hours or low 6 to 8.
  7. Heat the taco shells according to directions and fill with meat mixture and toppings.
  8. Enjoy!

  1. Used 5 quart slow cooker.
